7 Top Tips to Car Salesman's Or Saleswoman's Success

Given that car sales account for 19% of total US sales in 2000 (source: US Small Business Administration), a lot of people are buying cars which mean that they are a lot of people selling cars. Additionally, new car sales have dropped from 63.4% in 1989 to 60% in 1999. Selling cars is not easy given that many still have a negative perception of car salesmen or women. Hopefully, these 7 tips may help you to sell more cars.

  1. First and Foremost YOU need to think of yourself as a business. Car sales people work for an auto dealership, but most work on a salary and commission basis. When your compensation is commission based, this means you have more control of your destiny and should view yourself as a business instead of just a sales person.
  2. Adopt a Planning Attitude. If you do not have a plan, then you are on some else's plan - usually the successful car saleswoman or salesman. As a practicing performance improvement consultant or coach for the last 10 years, I have observed that most people plan less for their own lives than they do for a simple visit to the grocery store.
  3. Learn how to prospect. There exists a fundamental belief that the auto dealership is responsible for bringing traffic through the door because the dealership owners have all those "big bucks" for media advertising. Given that 80% of all new sales comes from referrals, would it not make more sense to prospect individually rather than simply on outside resources to control your destination? Those media efforts usually bring in suspicions, not prospects. Use your time wisely by focusing on prospects those who have a need, dollars and are a decision-maker. Do not rely only on the auto dealer to send out letters. Take the time to write some handwritten notes.
  4. Improve your sales skills to make more money. Today's buyers are far more savvy than years ago. Learn how to cultivate and develop long term relationships. Consider a proven buying / selling sales process where marketing and selling skills are united to deliver to the desired results of another sold car. New car sales to used car sales are far more relationship based selling than years ago when car sales was a commodity sale.
  5. Establish your sales goals using your great planning attitude. If you are a car salesman or car saleswoman and have 300 customers and the industry average sales cycle is 3 years, then every year you should be selling 100 cars. Focus your efforts of those who will be buying a car this year, but remember to continue to touch those who will potentially be buying another car in 2 or 3 years. HINT: Use the WAYSMARTcriteria for goal setting.
  6. Identify the attitudes or beliefs that are obstacles to your success. Working with those in the auto industry, I have heard countless reasons why sales can not be made. However, when these reviews are reviewed, they are usually unfounded reasons based upon existing attitudes and beliefs. For example, "corporate has ruined the car industry by posting prices on the Internet. Everyone knows everything about the car." My response is "if price was a real objection, then everyone would be driving a Yugo or a Chevette. HINT: When you change how you look at things, the things you look at will change.
  7. Make managing yourself priority number one. You must learn how to maximize your time especially in the area of time management, ongoing professional development such as through business coaching training and personal life balance. The auto industry is truly a 24/7 business given that cars are with us each and every day of our lives. However, it is important not to lose sight of your personal life including family, friends, physical health, etc.

Yes, you can be an incredible car salesperson who can increase sales through these 7 simple car salesman tips. Just remember, sales regardless of industry is all about knowing your numbers and then multiplying your activity to secure those desired results.

Five Traits of a Sales DealMaker

What does a real Dealmaker actually look like? If you're lucky, you'll have one in your team, but can you spot them in the recruitment process? In my research while training, coaching and consulting in the project homes building industry, I have discovered the differences between DealMakers and the poor or inconsistent performers.

Confident

There appears to be a level of confidence which all DealMakers have in common. Below this, and they are hesitant to probe too deeply and are not strong closers. Above this, they border on arrogance and are extremely difficult to train as they already think they know best. In fact, they don't think they know, they know they know. Confidence and self-esteem which are too high results in impatience. They get impatient with people very quickly and tend to burn people off and move on. They can also be very critical, and don't think for a moment that this doesn't show in their body language. They can do well however, with hard-nosed business people or no-nonsense investors.

Overly Optimistic

In almost all cases, the DealMakers were over-optimistic of what they can achieve. They will shoot for the stars and expect to get them. Combined with a strong confidence, being overly optimistic seems to lead to increased bouncability and resilience. Add overly optimistic to someone with less confidence and you get less resilience if things don't go their way. It's easier to burst their balloon.

Sales Traits

These three sales traits can be measured- the Persuade, the softer of the traits and indicates a willingness to attempt to change people's minds; the Confront, the problem-solving trait which is usually what people with a technical background use to sell; and the Persist, the trait where they will not give up. Needless to say, all the real DealMakers I have profiled usually have at least two of the sales traits, most are blessed with all three. But some combine a couple of the traits with strong people skills, fuelled with a strong motivation to succeed.

Empathy

Most of the top DealMakers have natural empathy. This means that people warm and trust them quickly, they build relationships fast, an important trait if you are in a display home. They will also be able to read body language and know almost instinctively how and when to change their approach to get the right result. However, unlike their softer 'Nice Guy' Consultants, they will not let the relationship stand in the way of a deal. They will be upfront about problems but be extremely confident of helping the client solve any problems or obstacles which stand in the way.

Decisive.

The sale process in the building industry is a complex one. And when you add large sums of money and often people's lack of financial intelligence, the insecurity and uncertainty go through the roof. The average person can be indecisive and therefore needs a Consultant who can guide them through the decision-making process. If a Consultant is indecisive, their approach will reflect their own indecisiveness.

It is not uncommon for me to identify someone who does have the sales traits but may have a large number maybe's or unsure answers. Listen to their language as you interview them - are they definite or unsure on their goals. Can they tell you specifically what they are aiming for this year. To date, I have not seen anyone indecisive about themselves and their goals, become a real DealMaker unless they become much more decisive. If they can't tell you specifically and clearly what they want, the chances are they will accept clients indecisiveness as well.

What they're not.

Everybody's friend. It's interesting to note that many of the DealMakers can rub people up the wrong way. This may mean that they may be too assertive for some other internal departments - remember, they won't let relationships get in the way of a deal. But when it comes to clients, they have the people skills to read what is required, and explain away why they are being so strong in their approach. If you don't like their approach, guess what, they don't care. This attitude alone might get you to back off hiring them. Big mistake if you are looking for a DealMaker.

Most of the DealMakers I have interviewed were not organised, and again, cared less. If they cause problems for other departments, that's their problem. DealMakers can talk their way out of those kinds of problems so don't tend to worry about them. Accurate paperwork is simply not a priority for them.

And, they're not good listeners. Actually, they will listen to what ever they think is going to lead to a deal ie a client. But if you're prattling on about systems, paperwork or teamwork, don't expect them to care or remember what you say.

So, they will care about their clients above all else, the deal is everything and they will rub some people up the wrong way and care less. Reckon you can get past this in order to hire a real DealMaker?

Learn and Earn With Affiliate Marketing

Do not Be A Statistic; Learn And Earn Your Way To Success

Having invested four years or more of hard work in a degree, it is imperative that you maintain your skills and have work experience recorded on your resume. Use your marketing skills and earn money at the same time. Affiliate marketing will provide you with the opportunity to learn and earn.

I had been unemployed for a few months; every recruitment agency within a 20 mile radius had been bombarded with e-mails, phone calls and of course, had been provided with several copies of my CV. Never before have I been unemployed for such an extended period of time, and I have an extensive experience in my chosen field. The financial climate gives employers the upper-hand; This is an ideal opportunity for employers to choose the most experienced candidates, leaving those with less than perfect CV's at the back of the queue. I can only imagine what it must be like to be a student or graduate just out of university. I decided to trawl the internet for any home-based opportunities to earn some money, as my savings were being sapped, and my resources depleted. I spent a good week researching; affiliate marketing was the one opportunity that appeared to be legitimate. In the process, I had fallen foul to three scams; I did not lose a fortune, but any amount is too much when lost to a scam.

Affiliate marketing is the most lucrative online opportunity. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and you will not become a millionaire overnight; it requires hard work, dedication and motivation, but it is the ideal opportunity for those who might be unemployed, or anyone looking to top up their incoming, to tap into what is fast becoming, a booming industry.

Currently, there is no specific affiliate marketing degree or diploma, although this is likely to change with time. In simple terms, it is where a customer searches online for specific products and is directed by the affiliate to the required product via a link. The user clicks on the link and is driven direct to purchase the product or service on the seller (merchant) site. The seller pays the affiliate commission as a percentage of the total sales value and this can be anything from 15-75%. The affiliate must have the knowledge and know-how to find the right products for the right customers at the right time. Advertisers prefer to have their products marketed in this way because advertising costs only become effective when a sale takes place.

The golden rule of affiliate marketing is finding niche markets. A niche market is defined as a specific targeted product that satisfies the consumers requirements. It is highly specialized and requires much fine-tuning. Research is imperative; finding the right keywords will lead you to the right customers and products for that customer. It is possible to market a product in two ways; either by choosing a consumer and providing the product that consumer wants, or by providing a product and finding consumers to purchase that product. The affiliate finds the niche market, shows the product to sell, then chooses a marketing technique and then builds a campaign leading to action. It is possible to earn money online within any industry but the key is to provide the right product to the right person at the right time and for the right reason. Initially, you should promote a product, service or topic that you know something about, or at least, are interested in. You are more more likely to succeed if you are passionate about your subject; what graduate is not passionate about their subject?

You will benefit from joining an affiliate program initially; An affiliate marketing training program is the easiest and quickest way to lead you to success. There are hundreds of programs, and I have researched them all. Joining is usually free, and a reputable program should provide you with all the expert training, resources, research tools, market information, mentoring and support to ensure your success. The program should be able to turn marketers into sales machines, keep you ahead of the game and make you a force to contend with. Be aware of programs that expect you to pay considerable amounts to find out about what they offer. You would not pay a company to interview you; this information should be free. You will need to pay a membership fee for joining; this the norm, but in return your offer should include all the training and resources you need to start your business.

You will need products to promote, so will need to join an affiliate network. The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you do not need to invest in products to sell; you simply market and sell products already offered by merchants. Networks such as ClickBank, LinkShare and CJ.com are reputable networks. There are many networks to choose from; choose those offering a good rate of commission and confirmed payment method. These networks offer thousands of digital products but you will need to learn quickly how to master these networks and achieve the best possible sales potential.

You are far more likely to succeed in maximizing your potential through the use of your own website. Your website will provide you with an identity wherey you can market your products in your own style. You will also be able to target your products to specific markets and update your product offer when applicable. Your marketing efforts will be automated and therefore your earnings potential will be continuous. Websites can be built using free web development programs and do not need to cost the earth.

There are many marketing strategies you are able to use to promote your products; the affiliate program will train you to master these techniques. There are free marketing techniques and paid-for ones. Article marketing is a free marketing technique to get traffic to your email marketing campaign. By writing short articles and submitting them for distribution in the market you will achieve credibility. You will need to write unique, relevant quality content and also unique content. Every article contains a resource box and by-line, including the author's contact details. Writing good articles can achieve valuable backlinks to your site.

Other strategies include Pay-Per-Click, wherey you use advertising mediums such as Google AdWords to promote your offer. E-mail marketing will quickly build you opt-in mailing lists which are great for targeting specific products to customers at specified times, and you can utilize autoresponders to manage your e-mail campaigns. Search Engine Optimization is key to driving traffic to your website and achieving high page ranking with Google, Yahoo and MSN can bring huge amounts of traffic to your products.

Joining a program has other advantages; it will enable you to earn from the outset if you choose one offering promotion incentives; promote the program you have joined, and you are able to earn from day one. Take advantage of your skills and marketing capabilies; learn and earn to put that much-needed experience on your CV. I wish you the best of luck!

5 Ways To Make Money From Home in 2018

If you want to make money from home pay close attention. In this article I'm going to give you 5 ways you could be getting paid on the internet in 2018.

Have you noticed that in 2017 the term "side hustle" became very popular?

I recently read an article that said over 50% of the work in the United States has some sort of "side hustle" that they use to supplement their income.

With that many people looking to do something on the side, you have to admit that the cost of living is growing faster than the minimum wage.

So let's go over a few of the ways that you could be earning money from home in 2018.

# 1: Become a Social Media Manager

Social Media Managers have become really popular since the explosion of social media over the last decade.

A social media manager is exactly that; a manager.

So if you were to become a social media manager your job would entail sending / receiving friend requests, posting multiple times per day, engaging and reading incoming comments, etc.

You'd think that this is something that anyone could do, but there are many successful entrepreneurs and business owners out there that are gladly willing to pay someone to handle these mundane tasks on their behalf.

If you think you are competent on social media maybe this is just the side gig for you?

# 2: Learn How to Trade Forex and Cryptocurrency

It amazes me how few people have even heard of Forex. Forex is an acronym for Foreign Exchange.

With Forex you are buying and selling currencies just like people buy and sell commodities like corn, coffee, and orange juice.

This is an invaluable skill to learn because when you have it, you can write your own paycheck. Just keep in mind that this is considered the same as gambling in the eyes of Uncle Sam, so you will have to pay some hefty capital gains taxes on anything that you pull in.

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are not only something that you buy and hold. You can actually trade cryptocurrency as well.

# 3: Join a Network Marketing Company

Although network marketing companies tend to get a bad rap, most people are oblivious to the fact that network marketing is a 100+ billion dollar per year industry.

More money per year is generated from network marketing than from all the professional sports in the United States each year, combined!

A network marketing company gives you the chance to become the CEO of your own organization from day number one.

In Corporate America you typically start off at the bottom of the ladder and are forced to work your way up. In Network Marketing, you start of the top of your organization, but you're responsible for building and training a team of independent sales representatives who have common goals.

# 4: Get Started With e-Commerce

You can also get involved with e-Commerce. You know, things like eBay, Amazon, and even Shopify.

This is where you have yourself a virtual business. You can sell virtually anything that you can muster up from your imagination.

Dropshipping is also a big part of successful e-Commerce selling. Otherwise you'll need your own products to sell and most people do not have that.

e-Commerce is a great way to make money working from home if you're not really a people person and you're not cut out for the sales life.

# 5: Get Involved in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is all about selling other people's products / services.

Virtually every company known to man has an affiliate program of some sort these days. For example, if you refer someone to Time Warner, they will pay you.

By simply sharing products and services that you use every day you can earn a percentage each and every time someone makes a purchase from your individual affiliate link.

Which One Of These Methods Are Best?

While all of the above methods are great, there really is not one that's "best" per se. However, if you plan on making money from home on your computer you're going to need to receive the proper training. Otherwise it could literally take years for you to learn and become a master of online marketing.

Coffee News Franchise Review - The Coffee News Business Opportunity

Coffee News is a weekly publication that began back in 1988 in Manitoba, Canada. It was started by Jean Daum, an advertising expert, who independent research led her to believe that people are more susceptible to advertising while they are eating. The concept is simple- a brief newspaper that is delivered free to coffee houses, restaurants, and motels. How brief? Well, Coffee News claims that it only takes 8 minutes to read and therefore, due to its brevity, people will read it from front to back. The paper focuses only on news that is entertaining and upbeat, including horoscopes, jokes, trivia, and therefore appeals to its readers. The theory is then that readers will read not only the features but also the advertisements.

Coffee News has been franchising since 1994 and startup costs for the new franchisee are estimated at just under $ 10,000. There is an $ 8,000 franchise fee and an ongoing royalty fee of $ 75 per week. There is no in-house financing available for the start-up costs or franchise fee. Exclusive territories are offered and the parent company looks for individuals with sales, advertising, and marketing experience. As a franchisee, you will need to sell advertising space in your publication. This is how revenue is generated.

The Coffee News franchise can be run out of your home and it does not need to be owner operated. However, approximately 98% of the current franchises are owner operators. A 3-day training course is offered at the company headquarters in Bangor, Maine and a mentorship program is also available for new franchiseses. A monthly newsletter is also distributed by the parent company which offers tips and strategies from other franchise owners.

If advertising sales is something that appeals to you, then you might find the Coffee News opportunity to suit your needs. However, if it does not, then you probably should search elsewhere for a business startup.

Easy Ways to Make Money

"Are there any easy ways to make money?"

The short answer is "Yes", but this needs to be qualified.

First, understand that there are NO FREE WAYS to make money, nor are there any ways to make FREE money, whichever way you like to say it! There is no scheme where you pay nothing and do nothing, and you make money automatically. If there were, millions of people would be doing it and they certainly would not tell anyone else about it. There are no on-line philanthropists who wish to "help" you to make money from the goodness of their heart; They want only to help themselves in some way. To make money you must expend some measure of your own cash or time or effort, or some combination of these.

That does not mean that you must always pay money for help or ideas to make money. There are several sources of information, and even software, which require no cash payment, but do require your time and effort to make the ideas work. An example is automated advertisements. More of that in a moment.

"What is the easiest way to make money?"

The easiest way to make money is, without a shadow of a doubt, by using the communicative power of the Internet, through which you can reach millions of people who may be looking for what you are offering. If you think that you have nothing to offer, you're almost certainly be wrong!

"What can I offer to people?"

The easiest way to make money on the Internet is by offering products or services provided by other companies. This is known as "Affiliate Marketing". You become an affiliate of the product manufacturer or service provider, and they pay you cash as a commission on whatever you sell for them.

How much does it cost to become an affiliate? Nothing! Only the time it takes to find some good affiliate products or services. Search the Web for "affiliate program program" (where "????" is your chosen subject of interest). When you've found some you like, sign up with them. (You may need to give a web site address for them to check. Do not worry if you do not have one; We'll deal with that in just a moment.) When they've approved you, go to their ' banners' or 'creatives' page and pick a suitable banner. Copy the banner code and paste it into your web pages where you want the banner to appear. Done! Now, whenever someone clicks on the banner and buys a product or service, you'll be paid a commission.

If that's too time-consuming for you, there is, fortunately, a quick way. Join one or more of the "affiliate trackers". These are companies that handle the affiliate sales tracking and commission payments on behalf of a large number of suppliers. You can select the suppliers that interest you from their lists. They also e-mail you whenever a new supplier joins their scheme. This saves you the time spent on looking for suppliers, but the banner work still needs to be done. Some affiliate trackers are LinkShare, ShareASale, WebGains, AffiliateFuture, LinkConnector, Buy, AffiliateWindow, CommissionJunction.

If you find all that too hard to do, there's an even simpler and quicker way. In fact, it's probably impossible to find any method for making money simpler and quicker to set up than ClickBank with the automated advertisements mentioned earlier. ClickBank is an affiliate tracking company that deals only in digital products, that is, products that can be downloaded from the supplier's web site immediately after they have been paid for, such as software, e-books, videos, etc. Just follow these steps:

(1) Join ClickBank as an affiliate. (You do not need to give a web site address.) The cost? Nothing.
(2) Sign up for automated advertisements lifetime membership. The cost? Nothing.
(3) Watch the automated advertisements training videos.
(4) If you do not have a web site, create a WordPress blog in a few minutes, and then watch the advertised advertisements WordPress video. The cost? Nothing.

For about an hour's work, you should have banner ads on your web pages or blog. Each time a visitor visits or refresh the page, the banner ad changes at random among the most popular ClickBank products in the category you chose. This random display is controlled by the automated advertisements software, and always displays the most successful products.

Once you're set up, either with your web site or WordPress blog, you'll need to attract visitors to it. In Internet marketing, visitors are known (somewhat impolitely) as "traffic". Driving traffic to your site is the hardest part of Internet marketing, but there are many ways to do it. This subject is beyond the scope of this article, but, if you can not get good advice from someone you know, there are many training courses available at various prices. Regrettably, many of them are not worth the money, being either poorly written or not comprehensive.

"How much commission will I be paid?"

There are no rules. You'll probably want to go for those affiliate programs which pay a minimum of 4% on consumer goods like TVs and games consoles. Digital goods like e-books and software can pay 50% or more! 25% is common for financial services. Insurance companies can pay you $ 5 just for a lead, without selling anything, and $ 70 if the prospect buys a policy. You may be surprised at some of the companies that operate affiliate schemes, even huge ones, like Sony, Argos, Wal-Mart, Sears.

"What else will I need?"

Patience. Do not expect miracles overnight. It may take some time and effort on your part, but success will come for sure. The amount of your success is usually commensurate with your effort in the early months. Sooner or later, your enterprise will achieve critical mass and start to snowball. Then it will be difficult to stop the money rolling in. Good luck!

Choosing a Web Designer

Many small business owners struggle with deciding on how to make the right choice for designing their website. They search the web for help with their website and find that the choice is harder than they thought. Currently there are (literally) millions of websites who claim to be professional web designers. However, one must be careful in choosing the right person or people in which to trust their company image. In this article, I will attempt to categorize web designers into manageable groups, and teach the reader the difference between the types.

Web designers fall into four general categories: freelance amateur, freelance professional, Web Design Company, Web Development Firm.

Freelance Amateur

The majority of web designers you will come across, especially searching the Internet, are freelancers. That is, individuals who do web design but are not employed by a web design company. Some are self-employed professionals but most of these freelancers are amateur-hobbyist types. They find a copy of FrontPage™ came with their MS Office™ Suite. They discovered how fun it could be to make web pages so they started telling their friends that they could "design" web pages.

The "pros" of using an amateur is that they are very cheap. The "cons" are too numerous to mention, but I'll point out a few. They have no training; they have little knowledge of what makes a good website work; they do not understand HTML code or CSS but only FrontPage point and click; they do not understand general design and layout concepts and they have little real experience. The biggest reason they should be avoided for the serious businessperson, is that their work looks amateurish, which makes your company look amateurish. Who wants that?

Freelance Professional

A professional is often defined by simply being paid. People think that if you are paid for something, then you are professional. Maybe that's true in the Olympics, but for the business services world, you are not a professional until you are established and respected as one by your clients and peers. Freelancer professional web designers are a giant leap from the amateur in that they have established a portfolio of respectable work. They have some sort of qualified training and experience and they have credentials that can be verified by contacting references. They have a good reputation with their clients and other professionals. In general, a good freelance professional web designer can be good person to have doing your site. But they are hard to distinguish from the amateur when you are just searching the web.

The upside is, if you find a good one they are significantly cheaper than a web design company. But that is usually the only upside. If the budget limits you, then a freelancer will do for a small project. But anything seriously important should be left to a professional company.

Some downsides to using a freelance pro are that they are usually part-time, meaning they are limited in how much time they can devote to your project. They are also limited in what they can do for you. Most freelancers are specialists in one area and generalists in everything else. Some have no skills in anything except their one specialty and often you will have to find others to fill roles. In addition, freelancers are not always cheap although many of them are aspiring to create their own company; some are highly sought after and charge $100 per hour or more for their work. My advice here is, if you have that much to spend, go with a company that has a team of professionals to get the job done in a timelier manner.

Web Design Company

This is the next step beyond a freelance professional. The web design company offers the "whole show". They provide real project management and have pulled together a team of web experts to get a wider range of jobs done. A company can provide a much higher level of expertise in web design, programming, content development and more.

Such a company is usually very small, yet large enough to handle larger scale projects. Compared to the most highly qualified freelancer, a company has a diversity of talent and collaboration working for them. The end-result is usually a much higher quality product.

The only real drawbacks are on the one hand, the web design company is more expensive than a freelancer because there are many more people on the job. However, you get what you pay for rings true. On the other hand, for very large projects or long term development, web design companies may be too small and usually do not have the human recourses to accommodate that $500,000 contract. In the end, for serious business people looking for quality and professionalism and who can't afford the big firm, this is the way to go.

Web Development Firm

As the title implies, a web development firm is like any traditional company. They have a staff of office workers, they have owners and officers, and they have a team of talented professionals who are paid a good salary for their work. They often have a sales force that do inside and outside sales. The quality of their work goes without saying, as you could not be so well-established by doing shoddy work. These firms offer teams of very talented professionals who work on your project and get the job done in a timely and extremely efficient manner. Additionally, they usually cover all aspects of website development including marketing and advertising. They may have teams of specialists that they can deploy to your location and work in-house under a temporary contract. The possibilities are endless.

If price is not an issue and the highest quality work is necessary, then this is who you want to do the job. For smaller budget businesses, a quote from an established web development firm might knock you off your chair, but know that companies who have project requirements that reach hundreds of thousands of dollars know the score. Thus, the only real drawback for a web development firm is that they are usually very expensive. Then again, cost is relative and bigger companies like to work with bigger companies.

In summary, the choice is yours. I would recommend for the serious businessperson, that you budget a decent amount of dollars to properly design and execute a professional website. I would avoid the amateur and outsource to an individual or company with good experience and reasonable rates to create my web presence. If money were no object, then I would only deal with established firms and pay the big bucks to get the job done right and done well.

Honest Business Opportunity Or Fraud?

INTRODUCTION

There are so many small business opportunities out there that can be very hard to tell a scam from a good way to make money. The internet seems to have generated more scams than honest business opportunities, but you can turn the tide against scams and learn what is legitimate from illegitimate almost at a glance these days. (If you are armed with the right information!)

ARE ALL MLM COMPANIES SCAMS?

The most common of the scams these days seems to be many of the multi level marketing or MLM companies around. Many MLM companies offer a legitimate way to work from home but they are given a bad name by the ones that are involved in the pyramid style of business that has been in existence for probably as long as the existence of currency.

SEPARATING THE GOOD FROM THE BAD

The way to tell them apart is very easy and it is done by looking at whether or not you are paid purely on the basis of getting more people to join the organization. If it runs purely on this principle it is a scam and it is also illegal.

In America there is an organization that was put together for the specific purpose of protecting the small business opportunity from people who are selling fraudulent ideas called the FTC. They have a list of all the scams that have been registered with them so it is a good idea to check any prospective business opportunity against their data base of frauds so that you do not catch this after the fact. Most countries have an equivalent of the FTC. For example in Australia it is called the Department of Fair Trading. It is just a matter of finding the one in your locality and getting in touch with them.

Most scams for the small business opportunity work on the principle of over charging for a particular good or service, so it may be helpful to compare what you will have to charge to make a profit with other types of companies that are providing the same or a similar good or service.

Many others target the work at home business with the idea of the investor having to outlay many thousands of dollars for an inventory of stock which the investor will have little or no chance to move in the foreseeable future. One way to get around this is to make sure that your small business opportunity only needs you to buy a sales kit or demonstration goods that are provided at little or no mark up from the cost incurred by the parent company.

The company that offers a small business opportunity without any form of training is also very likely to be a scam. A company that does not do everything in its power to make sure that all of its members are capable of making the company money is either incompetent or fraudulent, and either way you do not want to be involved.

RESOURCES

There are also many websites that offer a service of legal advice on not only the small business opportunity but every facet of home business, and you can access this information at relatively low cost. These sites typically revolve around preventive law so it is best to consult them before you sign any checks. One of the best is Rod Cook's site MLM RESOURCES and it specializes in the laws which govern the most popular work at home business, the MLM.

Another very helpful web site is the MLM WATCHDOG INDEX. This site is dedicated to letting people know about the home business scams that are new to the market and they have warnings posted before before any government agency can do anything about a small business opportunity that proves later to be a scam. It pays to do your home work before you invest in a home business idea because, not only may you be the victim of a scam, but you may be an unwitting accomplice in an illegal home business.

How to Find the Best Home Based Business Opportunity and Succeed

Who would not prefer to work from home? In today's work, the rich are getting richer, those with the few resources are getting poorer, and the middle is being squeezed out. With gas prices gouging consumers, commuting to and from work is costing more than ever before, meaning less available money when payday rolls around. And, as companies continue to tighten their belts and downsize, employees are taking on increased responsibilities for the same amount of money. What's the end result? Working longer hours with less to show for it.

When you work from home, though, your office is down the hall. Instead of filling up your gas tank twice a week, you might fill it twice a month. You have more time with your family and extra time to spend following your passions. Best of all, you can make your own hours and the only boss you have to answer to is the one who looks back at you from your mirror.

So, the desire to work from home is there, but exactly what are you going to accomplish in order to make money? Anyone who has surfed the Internet knows that there are thousands - if not hundreds of thousands - of home based business opportunities being promoted. How do you find one that's legitimate so you can make money while you work at home? Here are five commands to follow:

1. Beware of Sales. Unless you're a natural born salesperson and have a passion for it, avoid the business opportunity that forces you to sell. However, with the right product or membership and support you can do quite well. And the neighbors, friends, and family members that you try and convince to purchase your product will be more receptive to this.

2. Beware of Inventory. This is secondary to the first commandment. Many home based business opportunities require that you purchase inventory. Remember, you want to make money, not exhaust it on inventory. Moreover, you do not need to deal with the hassles and headaches of storing products, fulfilling orders, and shipping products.

3. Welcome Support. The home based business opportunity you select must offer a comprehensive support program. This should mean that the company has a step-by-step training guide, online courses, and helpful support staff who are available to answer any and all questions you may have. The company must also provide you with resources such as templates, samples, and anything else you need to get started.

4. Flexibility is Key. Whatever business opportunity you choose, it needs to be one that's flexible. If you hook up with a company that insists you set out a certain number of hours each week, it's no better than working an eight-hour shift and having a boss. The purpose is that you own your own business and that you have the ability to choose to work at your own pace, whether that's part time or full time.

5. Take it Forward. For your first home based business, choose a company that can teach you skills and strategies that you'll be able to use in your upcoming endeavors. Your first home based business probably will not be your last, so it's important to learn all that you can in order to succeed in the future.

Broker Joint Venture Deals - 16 Fast and Easy Ways to Make Money

A Joint Venture (JV) is also known as 'business deal' , 'strategic alliance' , or 'strategic partnership' . Probably the simplest definition is that Joint venture is a win-win strategic partnership between two or more businesses or individuals who agree to leverage each other's resources in order to achieve common economic objectives. Resources could be in the form of technology, relationships, access to existing customers, expertise, knowledge, credibility, employees, facilities, finance, etc.

Examples of Easy, Profitable and Simple Joint Venture Deals

Here are just a few examples of JV deals you can broker:

1. Tollgating
2. Reciprocal Arrangements
3. Sharing Resources
4. Promotional Partnerships
5. Create Profit Centers for Businesses

Let's look at each one in more detail.

Method # 1: Tollgating

Tollgating simply means finding a group of people with a high enough demand and connecting them with the source of supply. You then stand between them (like a tollgate collector) and collect money as buyers go through the tollgate. This method is also known as "Triangulation."

Examples of Tollgating:

1. Let's say that in your local area, there's an Association of Architects. Say they have at least 50 members and they socialize weekly. If you're able to persuade them to meet once a week at a specific restaurant or hotel, you can arrange a deal with the restaurant / hotel owner to give you a percentage of their weekly bill.

2. Another way you can tollgate is by finding successful businesses. There are businesses out there who are actually turning customers away because they are unable to meet the demand. Get them to pass the leads to you. Then you can direct these leads to another business who will do all the work. You then collect commissions for every converted lead.

3. Locate someone with a product to sell, and find someone who owns a list of customers who have a strong desire for the product in question. Get the list owner to endorse the product, and you collect commission from every sale made.

4. When a business goes bankrupt, make money by locating someone who is willing to: buy the old inventory, buy the old phone number in order to convert incoming callers, buy the database of customers, fulfill pending orders, take over the lease, etc.

Method # 2: Reciprocal Arrangements

This is a I-scratch-your-back-you-scratch-mine sort of arrangement.

The fact is that each business has strengths and weaknesses, and many business owners do not know how to compensate for their weaknesses, thus producing problems. But a smart JV broker like you can address this by partnering up businesses with complementary qualities so that together they are stronger and more profitable.

Examples of Reciprocal Arrangements:

1. Barter - a magazine may agree to let a restaurant pay for a month's worth of advertising by letting the magazine's key staff to eat for free for a set period of time; a marketing consultant may agree to help a fitness professional generate more leads in exchange for personal training.

2. Connect two businesses with products / services that complement each other. Get them to tap into each others customer base by getting them to continuously endorse / promote each others goods to their own customers. For example, you can arrange for a beauty spa to promote a health club down the road (and vice versa); or encourage a hair salon to "reward" their loyal customers with gift certificates from a restaurant, so driving potentially lifetime customers to the restaurant. In all cases, you collect a commission from any resulting sales.

Method # 3: Sharing Existing Resources

You can leverage existing resources that are underutilized and make money in the process.
Examples of Sharing Resources:

1. You can launch a jewelry designer's career by arranging to have her creations displayed along with the goods in a posh retail shop selling designer handbags. The jewelry designer does not pay any rent, but she pays a commission to you and the retail shop owner every time she makes a sale.

2. You can make passive income by finding student tenants for landlords in your local area. You can semi-automate the process by giving a list of local accommodations to a person working in the Admissions Office of major Universities / schools in your area and ask them to actively help the student applicants find accommodations. Make sure to reward your contacts, of course.

3. Licensing - If you have (or know someone with) a system, intellectual resources, or any non-perishable intangibles that other people are willing to pay for, you can simply grant them rights to use these resources in exchange for a small fee . You can license a software, hard to get information, a useful research finding, a specialist equipment, etc. Bob Serling has a wealth of resources about licensing.

4. Piggybacking - you can take advantage of an existing infrastructure easily. For example, you can insert your promotional leaflet in the envelopes of a National direct mailing company who already mails 100,000 letters a month to their existing subscribers. Agree to give them a percentage of your profits.

Method # 4: Promotional Partnerships

Are you (or do you know) someone who is an expert salesperson / marketer? You can team up with someone who has a product / service to sell but is clueless about how to sell it.

1. Become an Agent - You can help book speakers, bands, entertainers, artists, performers, etc. and get paid a healthy commission.

2. Affiliate Marketing - You can market / sell other people's products and gain a commission for every sale made. If you do not want to do the selling, you can get someone else to do it for you. You can also look for businesses with no affiliates, set up their affiliate program, recruit the affiliates, let them do all the selling and marketing, and then you just collect a small commission.

Method # 5: Creating Profit Centers for Existing Businesses

It's a fact that many people who are in business do not know how to gain a steady stream of buyers continuously.

1. Bundling- You can add a complimentary product or service to an existing one with already existing distribution routes, and collect responsibilities. For example, most real estate agents can make more money and serve their customers even more if they also recommend services like removals, interior design, plumbing, electrical, plastering, etc. to every person they sell a house to. But most real estate agents do not know this, so you can set up this arrangement and profit.

2. Encourage restaurants to sell Advertising spaces and get paid by finding advertisers. Restaurants can earn money by displaying ads on their bathrooms, at the back of their menu, on their wide screen TVs, or even on their announcement boards.

3. Do you live in an area where there are no 24-hour Dentists / restaurants / bakeries / liquor store / entertainment centers? You can arrange a deal where a business owner agreements to allow someone else to use their existing facilities at times when they are usually closed in return for rent money or a percentage of the profits.

4. Talk to an offline business who have no clue about online marketing. Strike a deal where you use online marketing methods to promote the business, and get paid commission for any resulting sales. You can easily do this deal with Experts and Gurus - people who have a wealth of information inside their heads, but they lack knowledge how to turn their expertise into information products and sell them online. You can act as their online publisher (or JV with an existing online publisher) and take a piece of the profits.

In Conclusion

Being a Joint Venture broker can be very easy and rewarding if only you know how to listen to other people's needs. To be successful all you need to do is solve problems by leveraging already existing resources and establishing trustworthy relationships. You do not need a product or business of your own. You do not need to be an expert, you do not need any experience, you can be 18 years old or 80 years old, you can have a PhD or you can be a high school drop out - it does not matter.

An Honest Way SCAM-FREE to Make Money!

I have searched for years trying to find a legitimate way to make money on the internet. I have tried various programs that have initially sounded good but failed to come through on their touted promises. I'm sure there are other good programs still out there but this program is one I came across that has been up front about everything.

What I like about this program is the customer support. You never feel like you're on your own. By establishing your own website all the profit goes directly to you and deposited into your designated account. The other great thing is that this program offers step-by-step easy training that can have you up and running within 24 hours. You do actually get legitimate downloadable products that seem worth every penny of the $200.00 it costs to get started with this program.

The company is constantly looking at new ways to offer what I would call their website "sleeve". In other words, it is your website but with their image and marketing layout. Currently, for me the website sleeve appears a bit "cheesy" but has still proven effective for sales. At this point it really doesn't matter as I know that the layout can eventually be changed as time goes on.

Again, if you're tired of searching and want a legitimate scam-free way to make honest money I would recommend this business. There are probably other good programs out there but the time it takes to find something "real" is time that could be generating you money. This works!
